Loosely based on Bizet's ever-popular opera, THE CAR MAN has one of the most thrilling and instantly recognisable scores in New Adventures' repertoire. The familiar 19th Century Spanish cigarette factory becomes a greasy 1950's garage-diner in the American Mid-West where the dreams and passions of a small-town are shattered by the arrival of a handsome and enigmatic stranger. Fuelled by heat and desire, the inhabitants are driven into an unstoppable spiral of greed, lust, betrayal and revenge.

Excellent story telling
Another hit show by Matthew Bourne.
Great story, great acting. Interval had a issue on the day hence 30 min interval, but did not ruin the show

Excellent Performance
Great show. I wanted to see it since I saw the original production at The Old Vic (2000 apparently). Angelo and Luca were great, but the whole cast was excellent. Really enjoyed seeing the show again.

A great interpretation. Carman was amazing. It was vibrant, passionate and colourful.
Great story telling without a spoken word or a song.
The choreography was wonderful.

Eye Opening
I really enjoyed the contemporary dance interpretation of Bizet's music, but I wasn't expecting the nudity or sexual references.
All in all though a great afternoon out.
